    Westhills Girls STEAM Team

The Westhills Elementary School Girls STEAM Team kicked off the year on September 12th by designing t-shirts and voting on a favorite.   There are 27 members of the club, which meets once a month after school to work on projects related to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.

Science Lab teacher Suzie Presson, 6th grade teacher Vicki Beerman and school librarian Caitlyn Crowder are the club sponsors, while Laura Smith, Assistant Director of Programming & Outreach for the Marshall County Memorial Library plans and leads the activities each month.

“It’s so important to get young girls interested in STEAM at an early age, so that it gives them the confidence to go into these fields,” stated Ms. Smith.
