Westhills Elementary School is committed to academic excellence, character development, and preparation for post-secondary success. Our school was recognized in the 2016-2017 school year as a Reward School. Westhills scored in the top 5% of schools in the state of Tennessee for student growth. Since 2015, our school has earned Level 5 status in all tested areas for TVAAS growth. We are committed to maintaining high levels of student growth and increasing student achievement by raising the percentage of students scoring On Track and Mastered in ELA and mathematics.

    Mrs. Presson Receives Grant

    Congratulations, Mrs. Presson, for being awarded the TVA STEM Classroom Grant! Mrs. Presson plans real world experiences in Science Lab. This money will purchase heat sensors that students will use to test outside doors to determine how energy efficient they are. Then determine how we might make them even more energy efficient.

    Poster Contest Winner

    Westhills sixth grader Shairah Pulido has won 1st place in the 4th – 6th grade category ​of the TN Association of Conservation Districts Poster Contest.  ​She was awarded a certificate and a $50 prize. Her winning entry has been entered into the National Association of Conservation Districts Annual Poster Contest for nationwide competition. ​She is pictured with Susan Hunter of the Marshall County Soil & Water Conservation District office and her parents  Eddy and Henry Pulido.

    Teacher of the Year

    VFW Teacher of the Year

    Westhills teacher Brandi Burchell is the recipient of a VFW Post 5109's Teacher of the Year award for 2023-24, which is based on entries to the Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award contest. Congratulations Mrs. Burchell!
