A School Safety Community Meeting was held last night at MCHS and featured Trent Lovett, retired superintendent of Marshall County Schools, Benton, KY who shared his first-person experience of a tragic school shooting. He stated that giving his presentation, "helps others, and this is my healing." He recounted the magnitude of the event, having been on scene at the high school before first responders arrived, as well as the steps taken in the minutes, hours and days following the shooting. He concluded by answering questions from the attendees.
