Westhills Elementary teacher Beth Standford was recognized at Monday evening's Board Meeting by Supervisor of Secondary Education Beth Smith for her diligent work on 5th grade science CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) resources for the county. An initiative of the Niswonger Foundation, Comprehensive Educational Resources (CER) is a consortium dedicated to providing Tennessee teachers with high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials. Through the CER platform, educators can access K–12 resources for ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Computer Science, and ACT Prep. Mrs. Stanford contributed to this mission as a member of a 5th-grade Science curriculum team. In this role, she helped analyze new state standards, evaluate existing lessons, and develop original, rigorous content to ensure educators are equipped for the current school year.
