District educators gathered on Wednesday for Opening Day at Lewisburg Middle School to kick off the new school year. Dr. Justin Perry enthusiastically welcomed the teachers and introduced guest speaker Ruben Perez who shared strategies and information from the book, "Emotional Poverty In All Demographics: How to Reduce Anger, Anxiety, and Violence in the Classroom," written by Ruby K. Payne, PhD. Teachers also attended a wide variety of breakout sessions, presented by fellow teachers, Central Office staff, and community partners.
