Report card pick up is available between 7:15-1:00 Wednesday, May 28-June 5. They will be available in the front office. Please know your child's homeroom teacher. Good evening, Westhills families! I am sending this message a day early to give everyone time to prepare because there is A LOT going on this week! Since our schedule is packed with fun events and activities, I switched things up this week and created grade-level specific flyers with all the events for each grade level in one place. Hopefully this will help families keep track of everything a little easier! 🎶 Congratulations to our DOUBLE award-winning Chorus! They finished 1st place in their division, and Emma B. (6th grade) earned Best Overall Vocal Soloist for the division! WTG! We are incredibly proud of all of our students and directors for representing Westhills so well. 🕺 Speaking of winners… Friday, students who were present, on time, and did not check out early during the TCAP testing window (April 14–May 5) got their groove on at the AttenDANCE! Students had an amazing time celebrating their hard work and commitment to attendance. 💙 Huge shout out to Ms. Yasmeen Davenport, our new Communities In Schools partner! Ms. Yasmeen works closely with students on attendance, encouragement, and support, and she is already making a tremendous difference for our students and school community. She also provided all of the awesome gifts and prizes below to help us celebrate attendance and hard work. Thank you, Ms. Yasmeen! 🍕 Our “Race to the Finish” Attendance Challenge Pizza Party winners were: • 4th Grade — Ms. Ashley Davenport • 5th Grade — Mrs. Stacey • 6th Grade — Mrs. Been 🏆 Ms. Ashley Davenport’s class was our OVERALL winner and took home the Heavyweight WES Race to the Finish Championship Belt! 📺 Students who worked hard during TCAP also earned tickets for prize drawings. Congratulations to Travis Debaillie, who won the student drawing for a 50-inch TV! 🍎 Ms. Caroline Bailey (4th grade) also won a TV in our staff drawing for having perfect attendance during testing. Congratulations to everyone! We are so proud of the hard work, perseverance, and positivity our students and staff showed throughout TCAP season. Our energy team has been working hard this year to implement energy saving changes in our school. I am proud to say that hard work has paid off and our school will be receiving a $10,000 grant that we will be using to upgrade all of the water fountains at our school. We will also be sending home an energy saving kit with each student to help you save a little energy at home. Thank you to Ms. York for leading this initiative.
