Families
Testing week is upon us. Our have worked hard all year and are ready!
There will be NO KONA ICE this week!
Please ensure students arrive to school before 7:50 each morning so they can be in their classes by 7:50 ready to move to testing locations.
If your child has a cell phone or smart watch that is not needed at school, please have them keep them home on testing days. We understand some students need them for after school communication and need to bring them to school.
Any electronic devices including smartwatches, cell phones, meta glasses, etc will be taken up before testing. We will be taking them all up and securing them with an admin during testing. They will be returned to students and secured in lockers after testing.
Attached you will find the weekly events newsletter, testing schedule, ways to help at home, lunch menu, upcoming Parent Meeting info, and a list of upcoming events that are now regular monthly calendar events. We hope this helps us all keep up with the busy end of the happenings.
Staff Appreciation week will be the week of May 4. A heartfelt hand written note from you and your child to your child’s teachers letting them know something specific you appreciate about them with a simple treat means so much to our teachers. No need to spend a lot of money. The little heartfelt tokens of appreciation go a long way to brightening a teachers day.
Getting ahead of the May Chaos:
We will be mailing out report cards again this year, if you wish for your child’s report cards again to be mailed home, please send a self addressed stamped envelope with your child’s name and homeroom teacher on it.

🐯 Westhills Families,
State testing begins next week, and we are so proud of the hard work our students have put in all year! This is their time to shine, and with your support at home, we can help them feel confident, calm, and ready to do their very best.
Below are a few simple ways you can set your child up for success—starting this weekend, the night before, and each morning of testing.

Dear Parents,
TCA 37-1-601, known as Erin’s Law, requires public schools to provide child sexual abuse prevention education to students. This education uses age appropriate language and teaches age appropriate techniques to recognize child sexual abuse and to tell a trusted adult. In accordance with this law, we will be having a lesson on Personal Safety. This lesson will be focused on safety rules and identifying safe adults.
If you would like to opt your child out of this lesson please contact me directly at jaime.may@mcstn.net. If you are choosing to opt out then please list your child’s name, grade, and homeroom teacher in the email.
The deadline for a response to opt out of the lesson is Friday March 13th. The lessons will take place during counseling specials starting on March 17th.
If there are any questions regarding the lesson then please feel free to reach out to me at the email provided. Thank you for your support in keeping all of our children safe and protected!
Physical letters are coming home this week as well.
